Over 35 Years in the Making.
Our story begins with India Fashion, the textile and garment manufacturing house founded by Amarjit Singh Chadha over 35 years ago.
Over the decades, India Fashion has worked with leading fashion brands across the UK, USA and Europe, building a deep understanding of fabrics, design and the art of making things well.
It is this experience, passed down through the years, that forms the foundation of The Living Edit.
OUR CRAFT
Made Well, Under One Roof.
Years of working with textiles have taught us that the smallest details make the biggest difference: the weight of a fabric, the evenness of a stitch, the precision of an embroidered edge. Getting them right takes three things working together.
Skilled hands
Every Living Edit piece is made by a 1,000-strong team of cutters, tailors, embroiderers and finishers. Some details are still best done by hand, and where a design calls for it, embroidery is worked by hand alongside the machines.
Precise machinery
Those hands are paired with equipment chosen for precision: computerised multi-head embroidery machines from Germany, Japanese sewing machines, laser cutting, and Swiss-made Schiffli machines that stretch 22 metres and work 752 needles at once. It is this Schiffli expertise that gives us our Broderie Anglaise, Swiss embroidery and guipure lace detailing.
One roof, every stage
India Fashion is one of the few manufacturers in North India that is fully vertically integrated. Inspection, cutting, embroidery, stitching, washing, pressing and packing all happen in-house, so quality is checked at every step rather than only at the end:
- Fabric is inspected the moment it arrives.
- Every design is sampled and approved before production begins.
- Pieces are checked after stitching and again after finishing. Anything that falls short goes back to be put right.
- Steam pressing with softened water gives each piece a crisp, clean finish.
- A final inspection, including metal detection, happens before anything is packed.
OUR APPROACH TO SUSTAINABILITY
Beautiful Fabrics Deserve a Second Life.
We believe the most thoughtful way to make something new is to waste less along the way. For us, that begins with the fabric and extends to the factory where our linens are made.

Water that goes back clean
The factory runs its own effluent treatment plant, which treats up to 25,000 litres of water a day. Every litre of water discharged from the factory is treated and recycled. Small, practical choices, made every day. It’s our way of making better use of what already exists, while creating something beautiful along the way.

A second life for surplus fabric
In the textile industry, every season leaves behind surplus fabric. Often, these are beautiful, high-quality materials that simply haven’t found their purpose. At The Living Edit, we give surplus fabrics from India Fashion a new life, turning them into home linens designed to be used, loved and kept.

For Amrita, The Living Edit began with a simple idea: to bring her family’s knowledge of textiles into the spaces we call home.
With an eye for detail and a love for interiors, she wanted to create pieces that feel just as special on an ordinary day as they do when there’s something to celebrate.
